"Pretty Woman"

Nope, I am not referring to myself with this post title. That would be presumptuous. It is the title of the musical that Franzi saw this evening. But I tried my very best to live up to this title. But let us start from the beginning.

This was Franzi’s evening out “between the years.” It provided for a culinary highlight as well, but the evening was predominantly geared towards a vestimentary highlight.

The musical “Pretty Woman” from Garry Mashal and J.F. Lawton, which had its debut performance in March 2018 in Chicago, played at Frankfurt’s “Alte Oper” (Old Opera House) from December 17, 2025 to January 10, 2026. When I learned about it, I asked my wife if she would want to see it with me (in drab). When she turned down my offer, I booked a ticket for Franzi with the clear intention to make it a memorable evening with somethings special to be worn.

This thought kept lingering in the back of my mind. Then, about a month before, my wife and I went to one of these year-end social events that she is occasionally invited to, to which she wore a wonderful purple off-shoulder dress with a very long slit. She loved it, and I loved it and I asked her a couple of days later (after secretly having tried it on at home), if I may wear it to see “Pretty Woman.”

This is how I got to take out this wonderful dress that night at “Alte Oper.” The slit was very long, and me being a little taller than my wife made it a constant challenge to remain decent in appearance. I wore it with 15 denier black nylons underneath and fishnets over it, and 7.5 cm (3 inch) black heels.

It was also the first time that I wore a chocker out. I had tried wearing one before, but somehow it never seemed to work. This evening, I tried again and then I realized my past mistake: I tried to wear them with necklaces, but I think it requires a bare neckline.

Then it was time to head over to “Alte Oper”

“Pretty Woman,” for those probably one or two of you who haven’t seen the movie, is a simple story, alluring to the masses, and it is a must-see for all crossdressers, as female dressing styles go from hooker to opera. Edward, a wealthy and unempathetic corporate manager, hires Vivian, a charismatic Hollywood prostitute, to be his companion for a week of social events. The story line follows their transition from a business arrangement to a romantic relationship, while Edward learns to be less ruthless and Vivian undergoes a makeover and learns to navigate high society.

The key scene in this movie is Vivian in a bathtub, singing “Kiss” by Prince. This scene quietly marks an important shift in her character and in the film’s emotional arc, symbolizing cleansing and transition. This scene, presumably, is why they had put up a bathtub as a set-up for photography by spectators in the foyer of “Alte Oper.” And, of course, Franzi could not pass up on that opportunity.

And the elevator shot, once more.

That was it: 165 postings, 450 comments from readers, 30 followers. This was the last outing of 2025, a good year in terms of crossdressing with a total of 18 days out-and-about, including another great weekend trip. The year 2026 has so far seen 9 days out-and-about. There are more planned, including another weekend trip.
