Anniversary post - celebrating one year “Franziska out and about”

To this day, it is exactly one year that I started this blog. And – if you have read my blog from the beginning on – it is not just that I started  this  blog, no, it was the start to my “blogging career” at large, as the thought of blogging had never crossed  my  mind before. My profile picture However, conviction grew with me in the course of 2022 that my - mostly very enjoyable - experiences of venturing out en femme into the real world should to be shared. It is also a lot of fun to select pictures for Franziska’s blog and to recollect what has happened during the outings. I t is also a lot of work and can be time-consuming at times to maintain a somewhat flourishing blog. I also keep an eye on blog statistics and am happy to share some of these with you today. Year one blog statistics # of postings: 58 (more than one per week) # of clicks overall: 24.170 (I am very happy with that number) # of comments (including my replies): 171 (more would be great, as I am very curious what you

Brunettes have just as much fun!

Crossdressing is great fun. And it would be great if I were able to simply embed it in my regular life and activities. That, however, is not so easy, and, as long as it remains to be this way, I need to set time apart for Franziska’s days out and about. The period “between the years” (as it is known in German), which generally means the week between Christmas and New Years, has typically provided good opportunities for Franziska’s outings, as I tend to be off work that week. It is also the season for shows and musicals, hence a great occasion for Franziska to dress seasonally festive. This posting covers the daytime of this full day out and about of Franziska in late December 2022 as her brunette self.   Portrait of the day. I look a little bit like Tootsie, don't you think, and I would take that as a compliment - Dustin and me! It is also boots and coat season. This coat is different from the day out and about in Darmstadt, covered in the last posting. It is lighter both in color

“What’s in a name?"

"That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet" Sorry, lots of text this time, but worthwhile reading, I think. I had fun writing it. I picked Franziska as my femme name – and had it approved by my wife – some 10 years or so back. Why did I pick this name – because I think it is great and it felt right. Period. Having done some research (you remember that I am an engineer and scientist) on the name “Franziska” for this blog posting, I found out the following interesting facts, many of which confirm that I picked the right name. The German women’s first names “Franziska” and “Franka” both derive from “Franziskus,” the German version of the Latin “Francesco.” “Francesco,” in turn originated from the Old High German name “Franko,” which derives from the Germanic major tribe of the “Franken,” which formed in the third century A.D. under Roman rule in the very area of nowadays north-western Germany where I was born and raised. Just to give you an idea, at i

Toilet issue

There is a lot that can be read online about transgender and public toilets. I personally see no reason for which a bathroom or a toilet needs to be assigned to or reserved for a certain sex. Granted, there are a lot of people that I would rather not share a bathroom with, but that relates to their personal hygiene and their social behavior. In large parts of Europe, unisex toilets are commonplace, sometimes simply because the bar, café, gas station, or restaurant is so small that there is only one. One of our favourite restaurants has two separate stalls and they recently removed the male/female signs. They now are both unisex. But this is not the toilet issue that I am talking about. Being an occasional crossdresser, occasional for several reasons - as regular readers of my blog will know, I spend surely less than 5% of my days out of the home en femme. However, when I do go out en femme, it tends to be for somewhere between 4 and 12 hours and I have visited the lady’s room in many
