A day with three wigs – Part 2: At the hairdresser

As I had reported in my previous posting, the key purpose of this day out-and-about in mid-April 2025 was Franzi’s visit to the hairdresser for an in-salon appointment. I had made that appointment two months earlier and I had dropped off my long blonde wig at the hairdresser four week earlier. A full-scale treatment, consisting of washing, pin curlers, drying, styling was not possible with a wig that only loosely sits on my head. After my wonderful lunch at "Kanonesteppel," I arrived wearing my medium length blonde wig that you already know from my last posting, and I was placed in the hairdresser’s chair. In the background, my washed, treated, and to-be-styled wig. After removal of the pin curlers, my hairdresser first worked on it with his hands and fingers, drawing out the curls. You can see how this unfolds in the following pictures. He then placed it on my head and continued to style it. What do you think? Is that a fun and worthwhile thing to do en femme? I left the oth...

A day with three wigs – Part 1: Lunch and another compliment

This Saturday in mid-April 2025 was special for several reasons. Having worn three different wigs within one day was only one of them. I had started to plan this day out-and-about about two months earlier by calling Franzi’s hairdresser – the one who has been washing and styling my wigs for several years – for an appointment. This time it was not to drop off or pick up a wig, but to have an in-salon appointment for a styling. He and I had talked about that before and this time I made an appointment for early afternoon today. It was time for Franzi to experience that feminine pleasure of sitting in a salon and have somebody work on your hair to make you look the most attractive. It was a warm and sunny day and I decided on one of my short and colorful summer dresses, with 5 denier nylons, white sandals, and a white blazer – just in case. Portraits of the day. Granted, this wig urgently needed to be taken care of. As many times before, I took the bus from our local bus stop to Südbahnhof...

Typical Frankfurt scenes and sceneries

We are still on that same day when Franzi visited the EURO 2024 “Fan Zone” in Frankfurt. I headed back east towards the city center, with a view on the western flank of the “Iron Bridge.” The river Main meanders some 500 km east to west through the center of Germany and flows into the river Rhein, right across from the city of Mainz, a mere 40 km from Frankfurt. The Rhine flows north towards the Netherlands, where it flares out and eventually reaches the North Sea through different streams. If you get off your boat on the northern bank next to the “Iron Bridge” (say, at a river cruises Rhein-Main-Donau), you find yourself right at the historic city center. On the right side in this picture, situated on southern bank, you can see Dreikönigskirche (Church of the Three Kings). “Römer square” with Frankfurt’s town hall “Römer,” which has served this purpose since the 15 th  century already. No outing without a stop at some shopping location – just for good measure. Did I tell you about...

Live sports and the EURO 2024

I have watched live sport competitions in my life in American football, Aussi football, rugby, US National basketball, US and European ice hockey, and a number of these more-or-less odd sports, you can watch at Olympic Games, of which I visited two in my life. I even watched a game of cricket once (early in my life), at least to the point when I fell asleep and was scolded by my seat neighbors. Consequently, I never watched a live game of baseball, because I was afraid that the same thing would happen. The last time I watched soccer live at a stadium, was in the early 1980s, when my home team had a chance to advance from 3 rd  to 2 nd  level in the German Bundesliga. On this wonderful day in late spring, Franzi visited the Frankfurt public viewing area of EURO 2024, just the enjoy the atmosphere and international audience. This championship takes place every four years (between the FIFA world cups), with one country or two neighboring countries as hosts, and is organized by UE...

Night Queens !

This brief posting covers one single event only, visiting a drag show, hosted by the Frankfurt-based drag artist Jessica Walker, together with my wife. My wife had met her before at some other occasion and she might have recognized my wife but likely did not make the connection that Franzi actually is the husband of my wife. At least that is what I was thinking. Portrait of the evening The show consisted of four drag artist that took turns performing. Outfit of the evening is this wonderful very light black silk dress that you might have seen in an earlier posting, completed with a matching scarf and glasses. As the weather was very poor that evening, we took a cab to get there and another one to get home. And as the cab was already waiting, I forgot to have a picture taken with the Night Queens. What a bummer.

Golden Girl

I had bought this long skirt and matching cardigan at a market in the Netherlands. After having completed it with some matching golden sneakers, I wore this outfit for the first time on this fine day in May 2024.   Portrait of the day  As I was out the door fairly early that day, my first stop was at a nice little café not far from our home, where I hung out for half an hour, before heading on to the city center. Along the river “Main” on the northern bank. The northern bank is the “Frankfurt side” vs. the “Sachsenhausen side” on the southern bank, or – in local dialect – “Hipp de bach” (above the brook) vs. “Dripp de bach” (beneath the brook). In the background you can see “Alte Brücke” (Old Bridge, the oldest one crossing the “Main”) and on the left-hand hand side the small  exhibition hall “Portikus,”  that Franzi visited in September 2023 (please see my posting “ Lieblingskleid ” from 01.06.2024). Lunch at “Kleinmarkthalle.” No explanation needed, as I had descri...

The allure of a moderate look

Long blond hair, a skimpy pink dress, high heels, and big boobs have a certain allure to the common crossdresser, and I am the first one to admit that. But sometimes, I just want to take on a more moderate look, less flashy, less risky (if you happen to care more for passing than for humiliation), but no less feminine that is.   On this day in April 2024, Franziska picked her brunette wig, a lovely and unobtrusive knee-length, cottony dress with covered shoulders, and some nicely color-matched wedge sandals, with moderate heel. And off she went to enjoy a day out on the town with a little highlight and new experience in the evening. Portraits of the day At the local bus stop, having asked a fellow passenger to take a photo. Again, this is one of my earlier CDH contributions. Franzi’s public pictures at CDH tend to cover the most recent outing, weeks or months before I am able to cover the whole day and story here in my blog. You can find a link to the most recent contribution as th...
