"Kleinmarkthalle" – I love this place

It was early February and pretty cold. That is why I took out my long leather skirt, my burgundy quilted jacket with matching ankle boots, and matching gloves. I love that my wardrobe provides some variability by now to just play and combine. It was late morning that I left home and despite the temperature and because of the sun, I decided to walk to the center of Frankfurt. It is a mere 25 minutes along the river “Main” and I headed straight to “Kleinmarkthalle,” that temple for food lovers in the heart of the city. If you read through my blog, you will find that “Kleinmarkthalle” is Franzi’s the most frequented location in Frankfurt – and for good reasons. Guess what, “Dry January” ended at one point, on January 31, to be precise. This time, I decided to try a different place in “Kleinmarkthalle,” a sort-of Spanish tapas place. What you see in the picture – beside me and my wine 😏  - is a small pan with shrimp, fried in oil. Delicious! After lunch, I visited my favorite wine pla...

Looking back and reminiscing: the year 2017 – Skirt and pullover during the day …

What else can you learn from looking back at your archives? You have aged! Ageing isn’t bad in and by itself, though. I am at peace with my age, fem or male, drag or drab. If there is one thing that crossdressing can do for you, it can make you look significantly younger. Franzi very recently had a conversation with a man at a hotel bar late in the evening and somehow the conversation lead to the question of age. When I told him that I am in my late 50s, his jaw dropped and he didn’t want to believe me. I was looking particularly cute and well made-up that evening, though, despite the fact that I had been out-and-about since 10 am. Portrait of the day. This is the same wig I still often wear today. However, it was before I started to regularly have it professionally groomed and styled. Obviously! Incidentally, I just picked it up at my hairdresser yesterday and it looks fantastic. And I was still a little chubby. But some cute legs, don’t you agree?

Golden Girl

I had bought this long skirt and matching cardigan at a market in the Netherlands. After having completed it with some matching golden sneakers, I wore this outfit for the first time on this fine day in May 2024.   Portrait of the day  As I was out the door fairly early that day, my first stop was at a nice little café not far from our home, where I hung out for half an hour, before heading on to the city center. Along the river “Main” on the northern bank. The northern bank is the “Frankfurt side” vs. the “Sachsenhausen side” on the southern bank, or – in local dialect – “Hipp de bach” (above the brook) vs. “Dripp de bach” (beneath the brook). In the background you can see “Alte Brücke” (Old Bridge, the oldest one crossing the “Main”) and on the left-hand hand side the small  exhibition hall “Portikus,”  that Franzi visited in September 2023 (please see my posting “ Lieblingskleid ” from 01.06.2024). Lunch at “Kleinmarkthalle.” No explanation needed, as I had descri...

How good can life be?

This was my second January 2018 outing. It feels like a long time ago. I still own and happily wear this wonderful gray wool coat. Its length is such that I should cover the hem of your dress or skirt but leaves sufficient room to show off your legs. I find this very sexy. In this case, I wore a short dark brown skirt, a shiny white satin shirt, and brown ankle boots. Portrait of the evening At the department store Trying for a new LBD At a seafood bar with prosecco… … and oysters, … … followed by a glass of Shiraz at a wonderful wine bar. How good can life be?

Weekend trip crossdressed: En route to Cologne – Part II

At Frankfurt central station, heading for a fun-filled weekend trip en femme,  for the third time within 12 months. Pure bliss: sitting on a populated public train, dressed en femme, wearing a mini skirt, pressing my 5-Denier nylon-clad legs together, unable to run away, nowhere to hide, reading the article "Mini skirt at any age" in a women’s fashion magazine. Cologne central is a very busy and very large station, but, contrary to central stations in many other German cities (such as Frankfurt), it is right smack in the center of town, next to this large Gothic cathedral called "Hohe Domkirche Sankt Petrus" ("Cathedral Church of Saint Peter") or in everyday language “Kölner Dom.” Do you remember the reasons why I love Cologne? One of them is Kölsch. Kölsch is a top-fermented, local beer, brewed – by definition – only in Köln (Cologne), by registered and licensed Kölsch breweries. It has 4.8% alcohol and an original gravity of 11.3%, it is light and easily...

Weekend trip crossdressed: En route to Cologne – Part I

Weekend trips en femme are great fun. I have written before about the many reasons that lead me to this conclusion. This time, Franzi travelled to the great city of Cologne in mid-June 2023. This trip was short, both in duration and in distance. A short-notice change in plans at home forced Franzi to cut the trip short by one day and to travel back home in drab early Sunday morning. But Cologne is only a mere 70-minute ICE high-speed train ride from Frankfurt central station. As for preparations, my wife had booked a room at a small hotel in the heart of the city for me, I purchased first-class train tickets well in advance (at a discount price), and I bought a ticket for “Moulin Rouge – the musical” at the Musical Dome. On that musical ticket, I splurged, with a great seat and with access to the VIP lounge before the show and at intermission. As there are many great pictures from this weekend trip that I would like to share with you here on Franzi’s blog and as I don’t want each posti...

A simple daytime outing in a long leather skirt and Italian lingerie

We continue to dip into the archives of 2018, here in early November. A regular day out and about for Franziska tends to start between 11 am and noon. I love the ritual of getting ready in the morning and if I can afford the time, I will spend – depending on how much preparation I may have been able to do the day or evening before – two to three hours before I head out the door. I listen to some girly music, I do my nails and stuff, I run around in my undies, and I take some pictures of Franziska at home. By the time I am ready to step out, hunger has crept in, and this day was no different.  Portrait of the day Franziska thus headed to her all-time favorite, the Kleinmarkthalle, this market-hall temple for food-lovers, and to the same place where she will be having lunch in later outings that were already reported upon ( January 2019 ,  April 2019 , March 2022 ). It’ a time warp – just jump to the left, and then a step to the right. At this very place, I have also been numero...

Brunettes have just as much fun!

Crossdressing is great fun. And it would be great if I were able to simply embed it in my regular life and activities. That, however, is not so easy, and, as long as it remains to be this way, I need to set time apart for Franziska’s days out and about. The period “between the years” (as it is known in German), which generally means the week between Christmas and New Years, has typically provided good opportunities for Franziska’s outings, as I tend to be off work that week. It is also the season for shows and musicals, hence a great occasion for Franziska to dress seasonally festive. This posting covers the daytime of this full day out and about of Franziska in late December 2022 as her brunette self.   Portrait of the day. I look a little bit like Tootsie, don't you think, and I would take that as a compliment - Dustin and me! It is also boots and coat season. This coat is different from the day out and about in Darmstadt, covered in the last posting. It is lighter both in color ...
