Piano concert at Alte Oper

After that lovely afternoon out on the town, followed a lovely evening out. Franzi went to “Alte Oper” again, of which all of my regular readers have heard numerous times. It is more of a concert and musical venue, whereas operas are being performed that the Frankfurt Opera house. That evening in mid-October, Joja Wendt, a German pianist and composer performed his current solo program. Throughout his career, he has played with several great international musicians. He is also known for his Boogie-Woogie. It was a really fun performance, as he is not only a great piano player but also a great story teller. Franziska wore black pants and a red blouse. The wide pants consist of several layers, are quite heavy, and are lined in satin. Wearing some fine nylons underneath is pure bliss. You know what I mean, don’t you? You simply can’t stop playing with them, tugging on them, because is feels electrifying. The red crinkle blouse is from the same Scandinavian brand and looks and feels fantast...

Out on an ordinary Saturday, visiting the Frankfurt flea market

Time flies. The last day out-and-about was in August. Now it is October already. I am not a great fan of flea markets. To my liking, most of what is offered there is junk. But as you might have concluded already anyway, Franzi and her male alter ego have a clear leaning towards quality, style, and design. Hence, it was only by coincidence that I came along that part of the river along “Schaumainkai,” where a flea market happens to take place every Saturday (9:00 am to 2:00 pm), officially since 1975. Portrait of the day I am so sorry for this Hodgepodge outfit. It actually wasn’t as bad as it looks here, but my wife was aghast when I showed this picture to her. It was my intention to grab my brown leather jacket, which would have made the outfit a little more coherent, but somehow that didn’t happen. After the flea market, I visited my regular places: the Italian-inspired food stall downstairs at Kleinmarkthalle for lunch, the truly Italian wine bar upstairs at Kleinmarkthalle, and …...

Parsifal at Bayreuth

Oh no, opera again, you might think, another opera visited by Franziska! Yes, but not just any opera. The “Bayreuth Festival” is  the  opera event of the year in Germany and it is  the  place for Wagner lovers from all over the world to visit. Floor-length dresses and tuxedos are the expected norm, even though this tradition seems to fade. This is where my wife and I went in August 2024, both dressed in new floor-length dresses and high heels. Around the hilltop opera house, there are several restaurants, bars, and food stalls. We had booked an arrangement at one of these restaurants, in which you then have an assigned table, fine buffet food, and a well-stocked bar all day long, before the performance, during the intermissions, and for a night-cap afterwards. On that day we visited the “Bayreuth Festival,“ Wagner’s last major opera called “Parsifal” was performed.  The opera lasted for six hours, including two one-hour intermissions. There happened to be a fair...

Reminiscence of and feature on Franzi’s travels, including a brand new “Franzi&Franzi”

My last posting concluded my account on Franzi’s July 2024 weekend trip crossdressed to Düsseldorf. It was Franzi’s fourth such trip within the last two years. There were quite a number of comments posted on my contributions, which I am always very grateful for. In parallel, I have run a series of 9 pictures entitled “Relishing the countless joys of travelling en femme” on CDH, to which you can find a link in my “Blogs that I follow.” If you are interested in the many great comments received there, please check them out. They are all publicly accessible, as well as all others of my public profile pictures.   Franzi&Franzi #6 Incidentally, I went to Düsseldorf on business (in drab, of course) a few weeks after my weekend trip crossdressed. And as I was taking the train, I of course paid a visit to that very pub, featured in my last posting, to have an “Altbier” and to take the picture on the right below. Unfortunately, I could not pick the exact same angle, as in the picture on ...
