That evening in 2017, Franzi went to see a ballet performance. And it was a really great performance. Preceding the show, two huge live projections onto the curtain showed the two main protagonists, one male and one female, for around 10 minutes, during their warmup routine. Fascinating.
Franzi had picked her favorite LBD and red blazer; incidentally, the very same combination as during her recent visit to the opera in Düsseldorf (Link). That dress must be one the oldest items in her cabinet and I remember buying it together with my wife, one for her and one for Franzi, more than 10 years ago. Unfortunately, we have yet to go out together both wearing them.
Looking at these pictures, I am also reminded of those 8 cm black heels. They were perfect with the outfit, but I remember having difficulties balancing in them and people, mostly women, following me with their eyes. Nowadays, I am more of a pro wearing heels and more modest in choosing the height of my heels, for the most part 😀. What you will likely not be able to see in these pictures, is that my pantyhose has had a cute pattern of small black dots. I should go for patterns more often! Just to be playful.
In the lobby of the opera & ballet house
I guess this pose and picture does not come as a surprise. Some things don’t change. And they shouldn’t.
Chubby cheek Franzi in the auditorium
This picture really makes me cringe: everything in it, except for dress and blazer themselves, screams “a guy in dress and blazer.”
Let me finish this excursion into the achieves with some personal conclusions: great outfits endure, my make-up skills, my female postures, and my skills of putting together an outfit and wearing it properly have since improved, every single gram lost makes crossdressing easier, a visit to concert, opera, or ballet performance is always a great opportunity for stylish dressing.
There were more outings in 2017, seventeen more, to be precise. Hence, we will come back to this adolescent period of Franzi’s crossdressing, as time permits and opportunity arises.
With the next postings, we will move to Franzi’s 2025 days out-and-about and you will get to know a small but significant revolutionary place in Frankfurt.
Franzi, I love this so much. Going to a concert or ballet like that feels like such a safe enough way to be out. You get to dress up, feel feminine, and just enjoy something beautiful. That’s exactly the kind of outing I want to try more of.
ReplyDeleteAnd the way you talk about growing into your style? That hit home. I’ve definitely had those moments looking back at older photos, where everything felt a little off. But seeing how much you’ve learned and refined over the years—it gives me hope for where I’m headed too.
Also? Patterned pantyhose. Yes. I’m totally going to steal that idea next time I dress up. 😊
Dear Michelle, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I don't look at older pictures very regularly, but am doing so now for my blog. And I come to the same conclusions as you. I wish you lots of fun, exploring the boundless opportunities. And as you see from my blog, going to Opera and Theater are some of my dress-up favourites. Love, Franzi
Delete"...every single gram lost makes crossdressing easier...", you said. I am writing to you as my Agony Aunt.
ReplyDeleteDear Auntie Franzi. I collect grams. It's like a hobby. My collection of grams is impressive and I always keep my collection with me so people can see it. But nobody is ever excited by all my grams so I assume they are just jealous. I can't find other collectors to sell my grams to. You are always pictured eating and drinking but you keep slim. What do you advise? What is your secret? Yours sincerely, Fat Sue x
Dear Sue, Thanks for your comment. Given my language limitations, I had to first find out what Agony Aunt means. I am sorry to have possibly triggered an agony with my comment. But looking back at my Franzi pictures from before 2021, I have to say that things have gotten a lot easier and more comfortable since. The trick is to only eat when en femme and to only have pictures taken when eating. Just kidding! I’ll send you an e-mail with what I do, respectively, and more importantly, with what I do not do. Love, Franzi
DeleteDon't worry, dear Franzi, I was being silly as usual and there is no agony, just admiration for your pretty looks and lovely outfits, and I enjoyed your humorous reply in the same tone as my comment. Your English is perfect, and very impressively so. British (or Commonwealth) English is so different from American English when it comes to popular phrases and concepts that, for professional translators like me, they are treated as two separate languages now. Just for example, you wrote "gotten" which is never used in British English, which would use "become". I'm no snob, though, as American English is the true inheritor of 18th-century (or Georgian) English when the new USA and the British Commonwealth parted company. The British subsequently incorporated French spellings and words and phrases from the colonies that the USA ignored. So US English is purer.
DeleteI look forward to your email although I still have to reply to your last one - bear with me, I am dealing with a sick relative. I hope you are having a lovely holiday. Sue x
