Weekend trip crossdressed: Crossdressing and the Arts!

As usual on Sunday morning at Franzi’s weekend trips crossdressed, art was in order. It was still very quiet in the city by the time I left the hotel. From my experience in Düsseldorf, I made sure this time that the museum was already open by the time I wanted to visit.

While I walked to the museum, Franzi caught the attention of some strange fellow, who seemed to roam the streets without any clear target or intention. He followed me for a while. I have a very keen sense for such situations, but it still took a couple of minutes to eventually shake him off. He is alive (still, I assume), so don’t worry.

Continuing with the theme of the weekend “Greens and Blues,” I wore a very light dark blue flower print dress. I was fun to wear.

You might remember my visit to “Museum Ludwig” in Cologne in early 2024. “Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst” (Ludwig forum for international arts) in Aachen also goes back to the art collectors couple Peter and Irene Ludwig, who donated their vast collection to a trust. The Forum was set up in 1970 at what formerly was the largest umbrella factory in Europe. It focusses on interdisciplinary and experimental art and houses pieces from Europe, North and South America, Russia, and China.

Playing with my camera. Posing it still a huge problem that I need to work on. In many of my pictures, I simply look awkward. A coach would really help here. Or do you have any other advise for me?

As the Forum was smaller than I remembered, I was through the exhibition of Amy Sillman, an American painter, who, incidentally, was a professor at the Städel school in Frankfurt between 2015 and 2020, in little more than an hour – including some photos – and left by 11:30 already. “Städel” is that phantastic museum in Frankfurt that both Franzi and her male alter ego have been to many times (See here).

Since the Forum is on the opposite side of Aachen from where I wanted to continue my sightseeing tour, I ordered a taxi and had it bring me to the university section of town. This is where we will continue with the next posting.

  1. Franzi, your trips always look incredible. Taking in the art and the atmosphere while fully presenting as yourself. It’s honestly inspiring. And that dress is beautiful. The whole “greens and blues” theme is such a vibe. Not quite the weather for it here at the moment. One day I’d love to do a road trip like this too.

    1. Dear Michelle, Thank you very much for your comment and compliments. My weekend trips crossdressed sure are highlights for me. I love the opportunity to really dive in and to be in fem mode from the moment I leave home to the moment I return days later. And - as you say - it provides opportunity to wear and combine different styles and to possibly pick a theme. Love, Franzi

  2. I prefer you and your dress to the art on display! But I confess I find this art so uninteresting that that's not much of a compliment so let me say you look very pretty and stylish. Cute hair, too.

Posing is a problem for everyone, even supermodels. Various professional photographers have said many things to me over the years. I know they say that people need to relax ...but then try to tell them how to and that tenses them up! But more useful advice includes these things:

    - Take several photos in each place, differing the pose, and pick the best. This is harder in public.
    - Your hands need to be doing something to make it look less like a rigid pose, so hold a bag, cigarette, glass, etc., or put a hand on an object. If you have none of these then it's better to hold your hands together in front of you than at the side.
    - For full-length photos, have your feet at different angles (like your fourth photo).
    - Taking a photo from slightly higher than your head highlights your most important features better.

You've certainly got no problem with the smile. :-)

    1. Dear Sue, My most faithful visitor and commenter! Thank you so much again for your thoughtful and valuable comment. I started experimenting with different positions and will share more photos thereof. My new little camera helps with that endeavor, as it can easily be placed on a flat surface and as I also have a tiny tripod to put it at an angle. I also found several channels in instagram that address posing (for women and for men). Love, Franzi
