Out on an ordinary Saturday, visiting the Frankfurt flea market

Time flies. The last day out-and-about was in August. Now it is October already.

I am not a great fan of flea markets. To my liking, most of what is offered there is junk. But as you might have concluded already anyway, Franzi and her male alter ego have a clear leaning towards quality, style, and design. Hence, it was only by coincidence that I came along that part of the river along “Schaumainkai,” where a flea market happens to take place every Saturday (9:00 am to 2:00 pm), officially since 1975.

Portrait of the day

I am so sorry for this Hodgepodge outfit. It actually wasn’t as bad as it looks here, but my wife was aghast when I showed this picture to her. It was my intention to grab my brown leather jacket, which would have made the outfit a little more coherent, but somehow that didn’t happen.

After the flea market, I visited my regular places: the Italian-inspired food stall downstairs at Kleinmarkthalle for lunch, the truly Italian wine bar upstairs at Kleinmarkthalle, and …

… the largest department store in downtown Frankfurt for a little bit of shopping – just for the fun of it.

And that was it already. You can’t write a novel every week (at least not with my agenda), and as I vowed to post a little more regularly – whereby shooting for once a week – that’ll have to do 😀. But I know that most of you are here for the pictures anyway and not for my ramblings, correct?

But (for the most part) on every fine day out en femme, follows an even finer evening out en femme. And this day was no different. Stay tuned, or sign up as a follower.

  1. You are always stylish, dear Franzi, and if this outfit is you on a bad day, then you are still well above average! Perhaps changing the ankle boots to black or blue would have been the solution with the jacket.

Ms Franzi likes her sparkling wine! I hope Mr Franz doesn't drink it whilst doing engineering projects or there could be some 'interesting' results! (Ha ha, only teasing. I'm drinking some light sparkling wine as I write; maybe it's making me cheeky!)

    1. Dear Sue, Thanks for your wonderful, charming, and funny comment. I always love receiving comments from you. And correct, I do not drink when I do engineering projects, neither at home, not at work. But any successful conclusion of a project of course needs to be celebrated accordingly. Love, Franzi

  5. Hi Franzi, the blue dress is pretty cool but of course, looks much better with out the jacket. I also find that only sometimes does a jacket work nicely with the dress or top/skirt combo I'm wearing. I have many blue items also dresses to tops and skirts. Lovely! Love your stories as well as your pix.
