Handbag topics – The way Franzi does it

This is the first issue of “The way Franzi does it” in a long time. Under this rare category, I address certain crossdressing topics where I think Franzi has a specific approach that may be of interest to others. You can find the previous six “The way Franzi does it” if you select the label “Franzi'sWay.”

Precious topics were

  • Preparing for a short outing
  • My wigs
  • T-Shirt arms
  • The four key elements to passing as a woman – according to Franzi
  • How I create curves
  • Eye lashes

"The way Franzi does it!” (#7)

I love handbags. To grab my packed and prepared handbag is the last thing I do, before I step through the door into the world presenting as a woman. Handbags are cute, feminine, and practical. I often wish I had the guts to carry something similar when out in drab. I also love it, if I am able to pull the handbag into the design and style of the outfit. Ideally (but very expensive), one has a matching handbag for every single outfit. Here is a trick that might help to a certain extent.

Recently, my wife and I pooled our handbags. We now have a common (and growing) pool of about 25-30 handbags – daytime, evening, clutch, winter, summer, various sizes and colors – that we both draw from. It took a little convincing, but in the end, she had to agree that it makes sense. I am now working on her to also pool our scarfs and shawls.

What triggered the handbag topic for this posting, though, is a new item to go into my handbag: a cute pink business card holder.

I’ve had several occasions when I was out-and-about, where I had felt I wanted to reveal or confirm that I am a crossdresser, but it somehow felt weird. I have also recently had a longer conversation with a man at a hotel bar, who seemed to fail seeing through my masquerade and I would have left him a note with my blog address, but didn’t dare to tell him, also because he was with coworkers.

Anyway, this is how the idea came up to get a business card for Franzi. And that business card was delivered this week. You might notice that I picked the same color (HEX #E15A83 and RGB 225, 90, 131) as in this blog, to make it more coherent.

I always greatly appreciate any comments left on this blog. And I am very curious now to hear what you think about my business card idea. Am I out to lunch?

  1. I know other TGirls who have created 'business' cards for themselves, and one who had cards with 'his' details on one side and 'her' details on the other. It's a good idea.

Also a good idea is to share handbags and other things if you can. The one problem is that sometimes you want something only to find your partner has got it, which did happen to one friend who wanted a particular outfit one evening only to find her wife had gone out in it!

The best idea, though, is to marry someone who is so supportive that she is willing to share things. That was genius on your part.

    1. Dear Sue, Thank for your comment. That is good and interesting for me to hear. I am very curious as to when and how I will be able to use my cards. To share accessories is one thing, but to share outfits is another. Love, Franzi

  3. I love the idea of a business card for Franzi—honestly, it makes so much sense. Sometimes those little moments where you want to share who you are just slip by, and this feels like such a gentle, intentional way to leave a piece of yourself behind. Also… pooling handbags?? Genius. I might need to try that trick with my wife one day (if she'd go for it...).
