Looking back and reminiscing: the year 2017 – "Bubbles are fun!"

Regular readers of my blog will know that I occasionally dip into my achieves.

I am sure that I told you somewhere in my blog that I have been going out en femme since early 2013 – not talking about the embarrassing half-hearted attempts at passing as a woman during my college years. Since 2013, I have spent 135 days out-and-about, be it a full day or half-a-day or an evening. Why do I know that: Because I have taken pictures from the first day on and they sit nicely organized on my flash drive.

… LBD in the evening

I’ve told you that I worked in a different city for a few years, where I spent my weekdays. That provided me with the opportunity to go out during the week. This is how I got to spend a total of 20 trips out-and-about in 2017 alone. So far, this is my personal record, which I just missed in 2025 with 19 occasions to spend a day or evening out-and-about.

Dipping into the achieves takes some extra effort, thinking about the where, when, and what of the occasions. But it also creates some fond memories of these occasions. These older pictures also highlight – I hope not just for myself – how far I have come since. These picture are also from a period before I started working with standardized picture formats.

Those two outings took place in March and April 2017.

Portraits of the day

At a local hotel restaurant. Very relaxing. Good food, good wine.

The wig actually is the same one (shoulder length, blonde) that you can still find in recent outings. At one point, I had my hairdresser shorten it.

This was a fun dress to wear. Unfortunately, I dismissed it at one point. It had zipper in the front from top to bottom and was thus very easy to put on (and take off 😁).

This one was a short evening outing. It required to prepare everything that can be prepared the night before and to get off work on time. With as little as one hour to get ready, I was then able to head out the door before 7 pm, proving me with three to four hours of femme fun.

Which are the key conclusions we can draw from these pictures (as well as from those to come with the next posting).

• Eating and drinking out have always been an integral part of Franzi’s outings
• Bubbles are fun!
• Glasses and sunglasses work wonders in creating a femme appearance
• Scarfs are not only fun to wear, they can round off an outfit nicely (if you do it right).
